RAW Review
. Sorry,
but it really blows right now. I’m tired of the
same crap and too much airtime and energy being devoted to
the same people, most of whom are undeserving. Great workers
like Storm, RVD, Booker T, Victoria, Y2J, Christian rot in
mid-card hell and job to Kane, Henry and HHH. It’s just
sad. Too much Bitchoff and McMahon, especially Shane on RAW.
So for this column I’m going to show the EVOLUTION
(hehe, get it) of how you go from die hard fan to hater.
Here are
the stages:
Avid Fan – You
watch every week religiously, Raw,
Smackdown, Heat, Velocity, the PPV’s, etc. Maybe you turn away at
the commercials, but that’s about it. You go to the
web to get rumors, gossip, opinions and backstage stuff.
Regular Fan – You still watch every week, but you
miss some of the lesser shows like Heat. You are definitely
turning
at commercial breaks and you go to the web now to get stuff
you missed.
Casual Fan – You
watch even less each week,
maybe you just watch RAW or Smackdown. Now you’re turning away
at not only at the breaks, but during boring segments, like
Bitchoff promo’s or things with HHH, Kane, Shane, etc.
You read the recap of whatever show missed on the net and think “oh,
I didn’t miss much”
Bored Fan – Now
you’re also turning away during
boring matches, which along
with the lame promo’s and
angles, means you’re turning away from more than half
the show. Worse part is, that you forget to turn back, cause
watching football or MTV or whatever is more interesting. You
realize that all you’ve watched is the opening segment,
the main even and about 10 minutes in the middle and you really
don’t care. You still go the web to get stuff you missed,
but you don’t do it right away, maybe a few days later
when you’re bored. You have to evaluate PPV’s
carefully before deciding whether they are actually
worth watching.
Disgusted Fan – It’s gotten so boring you’re
not even bothering to tune in or
you just plain forget. There isn’t but so many times you can see HHH jobbing someone,
Kane vs Shane, Bitchoff being an ass with his bad acting, good
workers being wasted, horrible storylines or things that don’t
make sense (multiple camera angles of Shane’s “surprise” ambush
on Kane with limo crashing into the semi or Y2J and Christian
discussing there scheme to bed Trish and Lita right in front
of the dam camera). You don’t even go to the web to get
info, you laugh at spending any money at all on PPV’s
and you begin to wonder what the hell you’re
going to watch after MNF is over.
When you reach the last stage you start doing things
more interesting than watching RAW, like washing
your car in
the cold, mopping
your floors, cleaning the toilets, productive things
cause you realize that’s better than wasting 2 plus hours of
your life you’ll never get back.
